About us

Who we are

Aceh Conservation Institute is a newly established, Aceh-based non-governmental organisation founded to protect the Ulu Masen forest landscape. We build on nearly two decades of fieldwork in Ulu Masen and long-standing relationships with local communities, provincial executive and legislative institutions, and conservation partners.

Our mission

To protect Aceh’s forests and the people and wildlife that depend on them, by training and equipping local communities to detect, document and report forest crime — and by turning that evidence into action together with government.

How we work

• Community-led – monitoring is run by people who live beside the forest.
• Evidence-first – every incident geo-tagged, photographed and logged.
• Built with government – findings flow to BKSDA Aceh, KPH and district authorities.
